Solstitium

On this year´s shortest day
Through the scaring wounds of my palms
I allowed him to sneak away
Understanding was my balm.

At the decision tree I had rested
Crooked by the hide-and-seeks
My eyes wide shut, proven and tested
By on and offs, easy nursing schemes.

How many clouds had gathered - I forgot
In this silent fight against my amatory boil
A blunt moonlight glowed on my lot
Me…see-sawing on alluvial soil.

After ages, or seconds, or years
Will I ever be able to tell?
A new sun woke me from my fears
Interrupting my contemplative dwell.

I upturned my face to the skies
And took off my bandage for sins
A tailwind full of earthy spice
Blew life beneath my sanctified wings.
